The Preschool Floater is a flexible and supportive role designed to assist teachers and staff with various duties in the classrooms and the facility, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. This position involves providing classroom coverage as needed, assisting with children's bathroom and potty training needs, supporting lunch distribution, and performing general maintenance tasks in both the facility and classrooms to keep the environment safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist children with bathroom and potty training needs in a caring, patient, and encouraging manner.
- Provide classroom coverage when teachers are out, ensuring continuity of learning activities and supervision of children.
- Support the distribution of meals during lunch times, ensuring children are properly served and assisted as needed.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of classrooms and common areas by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning up spills, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing toys and materials.
- Assist with various classroom activities, such as group play, arts and crafts, and educational games..
- Support the teacher in managing and supervising the children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Be a flexible resource, willing to assist in different classrooms or areas based on the daily needs of the preschool.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or daycare setting.
- Knowledge of basic child development and early childhood education practices.
- Patience, flexibility, and a caring attitude toward children.
- Ability to assist children with bathroom needs, potty training, and other personal care tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff members.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and take on various tasks as needed throughout the day.
